The imaginary Invalid , oil on panel (30 X 22 cm), signed Leon Marie DANSAERT.
 
Leon Marie Constant DANSAERT, genre painter born in Brussels in 1830- died in 1909.  A student of Ed. Brother in Paris. 
 
He soon took French citizenship and worked in France under the name Dansart.
 
He also lived and worked in Germany and Italy. 
 
He had a predilection for genre pictures, but he also also painted portraits and figures.
 
Some of his Works can be admired in Brussels Museum (The Diplomats)
